Nature Photographer - "I am a native westerner, born and raised in Wyoming. However, the landscapes of the Hoosier heartland have captured my heart and informed my art. When I arrived in Indiana I kept an open mind and have found new inspiration for my nature work in the fields, farmlands and parks of the midwest. There is beauty all around us. All you have to do is slow down and look. By so doing, I found out that there is amazing of beauty in the American heartland." |

Visual Artist - "It's a title you give yourself and then work over a lifetime to achieve. An archetypal position in a community, it brings responsibility to the collective spirit. Until I claimed my artist practice, I felt lost and unsure of any clear life direction. With a daily commitment to draw from a place of authenticity, it creates my life. It also creates a lot of drawings and paintings. Contemporary drawing is the core of my practice, using fragile, repurposed and temporal supports. I draw with ink, charcoal, and graphite as a documentation of my reality." |

“My work is abstract and intuitive. There are references to geology, organic growth and the human figure. Contrasting textures, stained, partially glazed surfaces, and sprayed semi-matte glazes suggest ancient worn stone surfaces. A sense of expanding energy and entrophy exist side by side. |
